About
When you put the characters you love in a new world, you end up loving them even more. Sometimes it's about the aesthetic (dark academia). Sometimes it's about straining those ship dynamics to the extreme (Pacific Rim). Maybe life is hard and you need to exorcise something (unemployment/coporate slave AU). Or perhaps you are so in love with the world you want to see Seventeen in it. Shakespeare, My Hero Academia, RuPaul's Drag Race. No problem - just give some context so anyone can fill it. Examples
MinWon - Bittersweet
Ah yes, the ambiguous Bittersweet MV. I'm curious to see anyone's interpretation of those MinWon scenes.
Any / NCT AU
Remember how Seventeen was supposed to be subgroups divided across Korea, China and Japan? What if that happened and the members were split up, only to reunite once a year. Or if they promoted like NCT - thinking about the graduation angst of NCT Dream, the ridiculous schedules of SuperM. Who is Mark and over-employed. Who is Shotaro and stuck in the basement?
Wonhui X Link Click (Donghua)
Link Click is a show about two guys who run a photography studio and time travels to help their customers. Wonwoo knows every event within 12 hours of a photograph being taken and Junhui can time travel and possess the photographer for 12 hours to complete a mission. Wonwoo speaks in Junhui's mind and tells him what he needs to do - where to go, what to say, what will happen. There's a rule that Junhui can't change the past because it will change the future :') but Junhui wants to :'). Would love to see WonHui investigating another sebong's story, or an exploration of their contrasting attitudes to fate (resigned vs headstrong - roles can be reversed if you want).

Note!
Have you considered trying for the 17hols hall of fame? The categories are: Exactly 400 Words, Year of the Tiger, Five of a Kind and the Rarest Pair. ▽ Click for More Info ▽Exactly 400 words: your fill is the absolute minimum word count. Well done you cold curt succinct savage. Year of the Tiger: in celebration of 2022, we will also celebrate anyone who supports this agenda (context: burn your ears). You must seamlessly incorporate a horanghae or wooahae or hahahahanihae (etc) in your fill. You can not regret it. Five of a Kind: You win this if you fill 5 prompts, and each fill is different in the same way. E.g. 5 different ships, 5 different AUs, 5 different mediums. You also win this by doing 5 remixes! The rarest pair: the fill with the rarest pairing at the end of the fest wins. This is based off the number of works in the ao3 tag. For simplicity, this will be the / tag and not &. (e.g. a “Wonwoo & Minghao” platonic fill will be counted by the “Wonwoo/Minghao” tag). The ship must only have Seventeen members and be the main pairing in your fill. We will update the category with the current titleholder during the fest so you know who to challenge~ I anticipate polyamory. (To help us out, please mention that you’re going for one of these categories at the beginning of your fill.) Navigation

a/n: hi op i do not think this was what you had in mind when you were prompting but i went into a bit of a fugue state and came up with this within like two hours so i thought i'd put it out here. i did a little bit of background research on the context of these violent delights but their dynamic in here isn't exactly adherent to what roma and juliette have in the book. regardless, i hope you enjoy??

“So, talk.” Words strategic between her teeth. No preamble. Door banging shut. Feline gait. Such have always been Minghao’s signature style. Soonyoung, despite the years that have severed their contact, still knows these intricacies of her personality like they’re well-worn into her mind. Maybe they are. Maybe she’s been playing this image of Minghao on loop since correspondence last arrived detailing this meeting. Minghao, billowing through her duties, the blooming bud of the White Flowers, at the zenith of the pyramid. She looks every bit the criminal queen she is.
Despite her thoughts, Soonyoung grins at her lazily, lounging upon an armchair like her personal throne, thumbing absent-mindedly at the chain belt at her waist.
“No greetings for me?” She pouts, rising languidly, stretching her arms above her head in a way that she knows shows the slim of her waist tantalizingly. “No welcome back, I miss you, you look stunning tonight?”
Minghao rolls her eyes elegantly, sliding, graceful as a swan, onto the corner of the desk that stands against the wall. Her skirt rides up, revealing inches of pale skin. One thigh-high-heel-booted foot gets hooked behind her calf. A hand adorned with heavy rings tucks a stray strand of hair behind Minghao’s ear.
“I don’t bother with pointless formalities,” Minghao says, leaning back on her hands. One thin strap slides off her shoulder. Soonyoung has an inexplicable urge to bite her exposed shoulder.
“They’re not pointless to me,” Soonyoung says, her voice quieting. Minghao’s eyes sharpen.
“Not now, Soonyoung, we have matters to discuss.” They do indeed. The fact that Minghao’s even deigned to be in this room with Soonyoung is saying a lot about the urgency of the current situation.
“So, we’re doing this together.” Soonyoung stops two feet from Minghao’s perch on the desk. Even sitting down, Minghao’s at eye-level with Soonyoung. It shouldn’t still affect her the way it does.
“We both know the consequences of this alliance,” Minghao states, gaze piercing on Soonyoung. She nods firmly. Neither Mrs. Xu or Mrs. Kwon would take lightly to their joining, especially not the latter. Mrs. Kwon had been vicious in the cracking down of Soonyoung’s romantic dalliances, had banished her across the ocean, hoping that the mess in the West could drive some sense into her head. It clearly hasn’t, for the very subject of Soonyoung’s exile and heartbreak stands breathtakingly in front of her, and Soonyoung still finds herself at Minghao’s command, almost unwillingly. She might still kneel if Minghao asks it of her.
“This will take extreme caution,” Minghao is saying, not privy to the downward spiral Soonyoung’s thoughts are taking. She listens distractedly, eyes on the way Minghao’s fingers fiddle with the hem of her skirt. Belatedly, Soonyoung realizes Minghao has stopped talking, her hand still on her upper thigh. Soonyoung’s breath disappears.
When she meets Minghao’s eyes they’ve hardened, gleaming maliciously like a blade rotated five degrees to hit the light. She presses off the desk in one fluid movement. Soonyoung takes a step back instinctively. She watches as Minghao’s lips curve in response, a wicked and merciless smile that has lost all kindness.
“Why are you backing away, Soonyoungie,” she purrs, sauntering closer, a sharp nail trailing the edge of Soonyoung’s jaw, “are you scared?”
“Never of you,” Soonyoung snaps, stiffening her posture. Minghao’s smile turns condescending. Her hand drops. Soonyoung feels electric.
“If you say so.” She turns away. “We will head this investigation together. The situation calls for it, the city needs us.”
“You say this as if you’re doing this out of sheer benevolence,” Soonyoung sneers, trying to gain the upper hand, outsmart Minghao, “you say this as if you aren’t invested in some personal gain.”
“Of course I am,” Minghao replies coolly, knocking the wind out of Soonyoung’s sails, “are you telling me you have no private pursuits lodged in this investigation?”
Of course I do, Soonyoung says in her head bitterly, it’s you. It’s always been you. In real life she squares her shoulders and says nothing.
Between them the silence is so brittle it could snap. Soonyoung smashes it to pieces with a hurled tight fist of words.
“What do you have to gain out of this?” She shoots, glaring at the graceful (always so goddamn graceful, Xu Minghao) curve of Minghao’s neck. “Other than the satisfaction of toying with me a second time?” Minghao knows exactly what she’s referring to, and this sickly satisfaction Soonyoung feels for a second is nothing compared to the gut punch of Minghao’s next words.
“Perhaps, you,” Minghao says softly, turning around. Her face has softened a fraction, silvered by the moonlight. Dusk has fallen outside; Shanghai’s streets are still busy as ever. But the noise is muted by the buzzing in Soonyoung’s ears.
“Don’t play with me, Xu Minghao,” Soonyoung spits, teeth bared, eyes feral. Minghao looks genuinely surprised by this reaction, as though she had still expected unconditional trust from Soonyoung. She would have almost given it.
Foolish. Foolish.
“I won’t fall for your games a second time,” Soonyoung snarls, backing away. She doesn’t turn around by the door to see the way Minghao’s face has fallen into pain and shadow. She looks small, and lost, weighed down by the burdens of her throne.
Soonyoung lets the door close between them with a resounding crash.
It takes her ten minutes to force herself away.
Re: [FILL] these violent delights au
The tension was so tantilizing and your writing makes me feel like I was in that room with them, observing in the shadows, like I shouldn't be privvy to their conversation, their emotions!!!
Oh my god this, I love how sensual and heart breaking this is ㅜㅜ The visceral urge to touch and be close, but then you can't, not anymore. Then as if SN can't help it, an admission that she still wants to ㅜㅜ
It clearly hasn’t, for the very subject of Soonyoung’s exile and heartbreak stands breathtakingly in front of her, and Soonyoung still finds herself at Minghao’s command, almost unwillingly. She might still kneel if Minghao asks it of her.
I'm really not good with words and the only thing that comes to mind is a constant loop of ohmygodohmygodohmygodilovethis! But I just love how you captured their dynamics from the book, so vividly that you really gave me what I wanted and more with how I was unable to pull away my attention from your writing and crave for more.
Of course I do, Soonyoung says in her head bitterly, it’s you. It’s always been you. In real life she squares her shoulders and says nothing. versus “Perhaps, you,” Minghao says softly, turning around. Her face has softened a fraction, silvered by the moonlight.
I'm obsessed with how you wrote their admissions to themselves and each other, I love how its so different (one is bitter and rightfully so, while the other is hopeful yet lost, struggling to reconnect but is burdened by duty) and painful in their own ways. It beautifully encapsulates the enemies to lovers to enemies idea that I had in my head when I wrote the prompt and I want to thank you for taking it to greater heights and writing something I'll definitely go back to and read again!!!
I hope you're well, wherever you are. Thank you again for filling my prompt!!!
