About
When you put the characters you love in a new world, you end up loving them even more. Sometimes it's about the aesthetic (dark academia). Sometimes it's about straining those ship dynamics to the extreme (Pacific Rim). Maybe life is hard and you need to exorcise something (unemployment/coporate slave AU). Or perhaps you are so in love with the world you want to see Seventeen in it. Shakespeare, My Hero Academia, RuPaul's Drag Race. No problem - just give some context so anyone can fill it. Examples
MinWon - Bittersweet
Ah yes, the ambiguous Bittersweet MV. I'm curious to see anyone's interpretation of those MinWon scenes.
Any / NCT AU
Remember how Seventeen was supposed to be subgroups divided across Korea, China and Japan? What if that happened and the members were split up, only to reunite once a year. Or if they promoted like NCT - thinking about the graduation angst of NCT Dream, the ridiculous schedules of SuperM. Who is Mark and over-employed. Who is Shotaro and stuck in the basement?
Wonhui X Link Click (Donghua)
Link Click is a show about two guys who run a photography studio and time travels to help their customers. Wonwoo knows every event within 12 hours of a photograph being taken and Junhui can time travel and possess the photographer for 12 hours to complete a mission. Wonwoo speaks in Junhui's mind and tells him what he needs to do - where to go, what to say, what will happen. There's a rule that Junhui can't change the past because it will change the future :') but Junhui wants to :'). Would love to see WonHui investigating another sebong's story, or an exploration of their contrasting attitudes to fate (resigned vs headstrong - roles can be reversed if you want).

Note!
Have you considered trying for the 17hols hall of fame? The categories are: Exactly 400 Words, Year of the Tiger, Five of a Kind and the Rarest Pair. ▽ Click for More Info ▽Exactly 400 words: your fill is the absolute minimum word count. Well done you cold curt succinct savage. Year of the Tiger: in celebration of 2022, we will also celebrate anyone who supports this agenda (context: burn your ears). You must seamlessly incorporate a horanghae or wooahae or hahahahanihae (etc) in your fill. You can not regret it. Five of a Kind: You win this if you fill 5 prompts, and each fill is different in the same way. E.g. 5 different ships, 5 different AUs, 5 different mediums. You also win this by doing 5 remixes! The rarest pair: the fill with the rarest pairing at the end of the fest wins. This is based off the number of works in the ao3 tag. For simplicity, this will be the / tag and not &. (e.g. a “Wonwoo & Minghao” platonic fill will be counted by the “Wonwoo/Minghao” tag). The ship must only have Seventeen members and be the main pairing in your fill. We will update the category with the current titleholder during the fest so you know who to challenge~ I anticipate polyamory. (To help us out, please mention that you’re going for one of these categories at the beginning of your fill.) Navigation

Not even in his dreams Mingyu could have foreseen this moment, his back against the wall and his pulse skyrocketing in his ears, glass shards all over the floor of his living room, Seokmin at his side.
Deep in his heart, he kept on harbouring a flame made of hope - hope that somehow he would have answers, or at least some closure, after so many months spent wondering what went wrong.
But as it turns out, hope is the poison of the foolish. And Mingyu has always been a fool.
It’s once again familiar knocks on his door that put the events in motion.
When he opens up Seokmin smiles at him, strained.
“I need your help,” he says, and Mingyu hates the fact that they know each other so well when Seokmin’s foot stops him from slamming the door in his face. “Please,” he adds, teeth sinking on his bottom lip.
It’s been several weeks since the last time Mingyu saw him in the exact same spot, filling the entrance of their used-to-be-shared apartment. That one time, Seokmin was bleeding, battered and bruised. Now he just seems worried, eyebrows drawn together over his eyes in concern.
“I hate doing this just as much as you do,” Seokmin promises, as if that somehow should stimulate Mingyu in collaborating with him. He scoffs, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Trust me, you don’t.”
Seokmin winces at the venom in Mingyu’s words, but that doesn’t stop him from putting his hands together in prayer, tilting his chin up to meet Mingyu’s eyes.
“Please,” he says. “If you don’t want to listen to me, at least give Jeonghan a chance.”
Mingyu can’t help the bitter laugh that gets out of him.
“Really, Seokmin? Jeonghan, of all people?”
“You don’t get it,” Seokmin says, and it feels like dejavu, a rehashed scene they’ve played over and over again - the first time, Seokmin’s eyes were cold, distant. This time they are liquid with unshed tears, as if coming to plead for his help is harder than leaving him behind. As if standing in front of his rage is worse than seeing his heart break.
“Please,” Seokmin repeats, “You know I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t important. We can’t stop them without you.”
“Stop who?” Mingyu can’t help but ask, a slip of curiosity at Seokmin’s distressed tone.
There’s a flicker in Seokmin’s eyes, a spark that Mingyu has missed. It used to be the mirror of Mingyu’s excitement, when they fought on the field side by side, having each other’s backs, tearing down one villain after the other.
Until Jeonghan came, dazzling in his beauty, convincing in his lies. To this day, Mingyu doesn’t know how Seokmin fell for his tricks - Mingyu doesn’t know how the love he was so sure would defeat everything else wasn’t enough to stop Seokmin from destroying everything they built together; it wasn’t enough to stop him from turning his back on Mingyu and all they believed in.
In the end, Mingyu lets him in. They sit at the small table they used to share meals at, and Mingyu hates the reminder just how much as he hates seeing Seokmin surveying his surroundings.
“You moved the sofa,” he says, sounding like an accusation, and Mingyu has to grit his teeth together to avoid letting out a cutting retort.
“You’re wasting your chance to explain,” comes out of his mouth instead, and Seokmin sobers up immediately, eyes moving back to Mingyu’s face.
“Yes, sorry.” For once his apology sounds sincere. “I need your help. We need your help.”
“You and Jeonghan?” Mingyu asks, raising an eyebrow. “Why me, Seokmin? Why now? After all this time?”
Seokmin takes a deep breath in; his eyes are set on Mingyu’s face, unmovable. Under his scrutiny Mingyu feels uneasy, uncovered. He’s afraid Seokmin will be able to see past his defences, past the walls he puts up to protect himself.
Seokmin’s mouth opens, then closes. His teeth nibble on his bottom lip, as he stares at Mingyu in what seems like an attempt at conveying everything he wants to say through his eyes.
Maybe a long time it would have worked, but now Mingyu is left empty handed, unable to decipher the words written in Seokmin’s eyes.
“Jeonghan,” Seokmin starts, but the rest of his sentence is drowned out by a loud blast.
Mingyu’s instincts scream at him to move even before the high pitched sound registers in his ears. One second he’s sitting in his chair, the next one he’s throwing himself over the small table to drag Seokmin down to the floor with him, shielding his body with his own.
Neither of them scream, but Seokmin lets out a small grunt when he hits the floor at the same time as the window shatters, sending glass splinters flying in every direction. Mingyu barely registers the pain when he crouches down on the floor to survey his surroundings through the thick smoke filling the apartment.
“Fuck,” Seokmin wishpers, squatting next to Mingyu and looking around with frantic eyes. There’s a gun in his hand, and Mingyu wonders how he missed it until then, probably too focused on Seokmin’s pleading eyes to take in the full gear he’s wearing.
“We need to get out of here, quickly,” Seokmin whispers, gaze moving from the shattered window to the grenade filling the room with thick white fog. He throws his jacket over it before looking at Mingyu. “Go get everything you need. Stay low.”
Despite the retort on the tip of his tongue, Mingyu decides to follow Seokmin’s suggestion - he’s never been good at following orders without questioning them, but he recognizes a life-or-death situation when he finds himself into one.
It doesn’t take long for him to find his stuff. He’s hidden everything out of sight, below his bed - their bed, his mind usefully provides. With a small sigh, he moves back to where he left Seokmin.
Seokmin is standing next to the window, back to the wall, gun tight in his hands. With a quick nod he gestures for Mingyu to stand on the other side of it.
So here Mingyu is, fear and adrenaline coursing through his veins as he takes quick glances at Seokmin’s concerned face.
“How the hell did they find us?” Seokmin murmurs, but the words are barely audible over the sounds of sirens outside, getting louder and louder.
“Why is the police after you, Seokmin?” Mingyu grits out, feeling annoyance rumbling inside him. He’s always been on the right side, he’s always been fighting for what’s right, and now he finds himself with a broken window and the cops at his door because of his stupid ex boyfriend.
Seokmin rolls his eyes. His face is surrounded by white tendrils of smoke, and for a second Mingyu sees him back on their last mission together; the day of the final betrayal, when Seokmin left him on the field and disappeared with one last glare in his direction, expression set in stone.
Mingyu was a fool that day, a hopeless fool in love. He tried to run behind him, pleading for him to stay, not to leave him. Ice in his eyes, Seokmin casted one look at him and then disappeared between the smoke and the mess of destruction Jeonghan caused in his wake.
Now Seokmin’s gaze is far more gentler, his face apologetic when he asks Mingyu to save the questions for later. His hand is warm around Mingyu’s wrist, an anchor keeping him centred and dragging him in the right direction.
Mingyu is full of hope this time around, hope that Seokmin will finally explain himself, make all wrongs right; but hope is just the poison of the foolish.
And Mingyu is still a fool in love.
