About
When you put the characters you love in a new world, you end up loving them even more. Sometimes it's about the aesthetic (dark academia). Sometimes it's about straining those ship dynamics to the extreme (Pacific Rim). Maybe life is hard and you need to exorcise something (unemployment/coporate slave AU). Or perhaps you are so in love with the world you want to see Seventeen in it. Shakespeare, My Hero Academia, RuPaul's Drag Race. No problem - just give some context so anyone can fill it. Examples
MinWon - Bittersweet
Ah yes, the ambiguous Bittersweet MV. I'm curious to see anyone's interpretation of those MinWon scenes.
Any / NCT AU
Remember how Seventeen was supposed to be subgroups divided across Korea, China and Japan? What if that happened and the members were split up, only to reunite once a year. Or if they promoted like NCT - thinking about the graduation angst of NCT Dream, the ridiculous schedules of SuperM. Who is Mark and over-employed. Who is Shotaro and stuck in the basement?
Wonhui X Link Click (Donghua)
Link Click is a show about two guys who run a photography studio and time travels to help their customers. Wonwoo knows every event within 12 hours of a photograph being taken and Junhui can time travel and possess the photographer for 12 hours to complete a mission. Wonwoo speaks in Junhui's mind and tells him what he needs to do - where to go, what to say, what will happen. There's a rule that Junhui can't change the past because it will change the future :') but Junhui wants to :'). Would love to see WonHui investigating another sebong's story, or an exploration of their contrasting attitudes to fate (resigned vs headstrong - roles can be reversed if you want).

Note!
Have you considered trying for the 17hols hall of fame? The categories are: Exactly 400 Words, Year of the Tiger, Five of a Kind and the Rarest Pair. ▽ Click for More Info ▽Exactly 400 words: your fill is the absolute minimum word count. Well done you cold curt succinct savage. Year of the Tiger: in celebration of 2022, we will also celebrate anyone who supports this agenda (context: burn your ears). You must seamlessly incorporate a horanghae or wooahae or hahahahanihae (etc) in your fill. You can not regret it. Five of a Kind: You win this if you fill 5 prompts, and each fill is different in the same way. E.g. 5 different ships, 5 different AUs, 5 different mediums. You also win this by doing 5 remixes! The rarest pair: the fill with the rarest pairing at the end of the fest wins. This is based off the number of works in the ao3 tag. For simplicity, this will be the / tag and not &. (e.g. a “Wonwoo & Minghao” platonic fill will be counted by the “Wonwoo/Minghao” tag). The ship must only have Seventeen members and be the main pairing in your fill. We will update the category with the current titleholder during the fest so you know who to challenge~ I anticipate polyamory. (To help us out, please mention that you’re going for one of these categories at the beginning of your fill.) Navigation

Alright, you baited me...
💭💭💭
Mingyu hates the closing shift. When the restaurant is empty and everyone is gone and it’s dark outside and half the lights are off. It’s creepy. But he has it and his goal tonight is to get through the closing shift checklist as fast as possible so he can get home and sleep.
The list starts with sweeping the floors and ends with taking out the trash. He shudders thinking about the latter.
The trash can is located in the back alley of the restaurant. It’s dark and creepy and there’s only one dim light that illuminates the door and barely the trash can. It’s something out of a horror film. The last time he had to go back there, a rat ran out from underneath the trash bin, nearly on top of his feet. He almost hit his head on the outside light with the way he jumped so high.
It makes him shudder just thinking about it. And now he’ll have to do it again, by himself, all because Soonyoung begged him to cover the shift so that he could hook up with Wonwoo in his kitchen while all his roommates were out for the next hour and a half. That also makes Mingyu shudder. That’s the kitchen. He hopes Soonyoung at least sanitizes the counters after.
Soonyoung said he would come back. “It’s just a quickie, I swear.” Mingyu is 99% sure Soonyoung is not coming back.
Ding.
“We’re closed–” Mingyu starts to say, pausing his sweeping. He’s stopped dead in his tracks. Maybe he’s drunk, maybe he’s high. He did just eat Soonyoung’s brownies as a snack and now that he thinks about it, Soonyoung doesn’t bake.
But when he looks at Mingaho, he’s glowing in the doorway. It’s like the lights dim and everything around him blurs to the background, making it impossible to see anyone but him. As the door closes, a slight breeze ruffles his hair and Minghao runs his fingers through his hair. It’s impossible for Mingyu to look anywhere else. He doesn’t want to look anywhere else.
“Oh, sorry, the sign said open,” and Minghao starts to leave.
“We are,” Mingyu rushes to say.
They are definitely not, but Mingyu’s going to be here for at least another hour and if he can get Minghao to stay for at least another minute, he’ll stay another ten hours if that’s what it takes. (Hopefully not though. His mom always told Mingyu stories as a kid about the restaurant being haunted at night and Mingyu is totally respectful and fully believes in the ghosts’ rights to exist, he just would rather not experience that existence.)
Minghao has been coming to the restaurant every week since the summer started. From what Mingyu has gathered from Minghao’s recent visits are – he goes to Otis College of Art and Design during the school year (the collegiate embroidered sweater gives it away), he’s a ceramicist working at a studio in downtown over the summer, and he’s not a huge fan of soon tofu soup. He made a face at Mingyu when he asked for recommendations during his first visit and Mingyu suggested all of their top selling soon tofu soups.
Mingyu thought he’d never see him again considering the fact that his mom’s restaurant is known for soon tofu soup, the best soon tofu soup in all of Ktown and probably all of the west coast if you asked Mingyu (and also if you ask the 300+ reviewers on yelp who gave the place a four star and up review. Ignore the white reviewers complaining about the service).
But then Mingyu saw Minghao the week after and the week after that and now it’s a month and a half into the summer and Minghao has still been coming. He only orders the bibimbap. Bibimbap at a soon tofu restaurant. Minghao is a creature of habit and an enigma and perfect. And Mingyu as long as he keeps coming in, Mingyu will serve it to him.
Minghao looks at him questioningly. He pokes his head out more to look at the back where the kitchen is and sees that the lights are already off and there is not a chef in sight.
He cocks his head at Mingyu, smiling amusedly and Mingyu feels his cheeks warm, embarrassed at getting caught in a lie, but too shameless to stop.
“I can make you something.” Mingyu puts the broom to the side and wipes his hands on his apron. “What are you craving?”
“You don’t have to, I can find somewhere else open.”
Mingyu feigns offense. Kinda. He is a little offended that Minghao eats at other places actually. “You’re going to go to another place to get bibimbap that is probably made wrong instead of staying here and knowing that I’m going to make your bibimbap exactly how you like it?”
Minghao raises an eyebrow at him. “You’re not even the one that cooks it,” Minghao points out.
Mingyu can’t deny that. Also, there’s not even enough ingredients right now for Mingyu to make the bibimbap anyway.
However, he doesn’t want Minghao to go.
“Okay, but how do you feel about ramyeon?” Mingyu leans over the counter, flexing his arms just slightly so the definition shows through his white t-shirt and he smiles at Minghao, the smile that usually gets him lots of tips and a phone number on the bill.
Minghao eyes Mingyu suspiciously, but not in a mean way, in a how much am I willing to amuse you type of way. Mingyu is hoping the answer is, a lot.
It’s been a month, a little over a month of these small encounters, where Mingyu would make light conversation, comment on Minghao’s outfit, flirt just a bit and take Minghao’s order. And usually, Mingyu wouldn’t be waiting for this long. Usually, if Minghao were any other guy, he would just ask Minghao out on a date. Mingyu is very good at taking people out on dates.
Minghao isn’t just any other guy though. There’s something about Minghao that makes Mingyu shy to ask.
But tonight, tonight Mingyu’s going to go for it.
He guesses Minghao is thinking the same thing, because Minghao leans in closer too. He looks him right in the eye and says, “I love ramyeon.”
Mingyu takes Minghao’s hand, interlaces their fingers, and guides him to the kitchen.
💭💭💭
“Hello? Earth to Mingyu?” Soonyoung waves his hand in front of Mingyu’s face and Mingyu is brought out of his daydream.
God, it’s just a daydream.
“Why don’t you just ask him out instead of dreaming about him on the job?” Soonyoung teases, jerking his head unsubtly at Minghao who sits at his usual table tucked in the corner in the front, back to the restaurant’s entrance.
Thank god Minghao is sketching in his notebook right now. His glasses slipping a bit down his nose. It’d probably be really inappropriate for Mingyu to push them back up, but he wants to.
Mingyu reddens. “Stop,” he warns Soonyoung.
Soonyoung has been teasing him ever since he found out that Mingyu switched shifts with Seokmin so that he could keep seeing Minghao. It was a good deal honestly. And all he had to do in return was let Seokmin borrow his car to impress Jeonghan when he took him out on a date. Not that Seokmin’s driving skills are impressive, but Mingyu’s going to let Jeonghan tell him that one.
He straightens up. “I will ask him out. With time, it’s called playing the long game.” Soonyoung laughs at him, clapping him on the back as a way to say sure, sure, good luck with that and leaves the kitchen to wait on his own tables.
Good. Soonyoung should do less teasing and more of his job anyway. Mingyu puts his palm to his cheek to make sure he’s not red anymore and fixes his hair a bit in the reflection of a tiny mirror hung in the back. When he steps out onto the floor, Minghao is gone. Mingyu deflates, going from 6 ft 2 to 5 ft 11.
Goddammit Soonyoung. Mingyu is definitely going to tell Wonwoo about Soonyoung spending his lunch breaks making googley eyes at his terribly angled instagram photos.
Mingyu shuffles over sadly to Minghao’s now empty table to wipe it down. When he gets there, he notices a piece of paper that Minghao left behind.
It’s a sketch of Mingyu leaning over the kitchen counter, resting his chin on his arm, his eyes open, and staring, and fond. Mingyu sucks in a breath, flustered and blushing all over. He didn’t realize Minghao was noticing. And also, Minghao is really an artist, huh? The way he can capture how Mingyu feels in a drawing.
Underneath the sketch is a note:
I was waiting for you to ask, but it’s already been a month, so I guess I’ll go first. Call me.
- Minghao
Mingyu clutches the note to his chest, beaming, glowing, ready to explode in the good way, the best way. The long game works.

ugh mingyu is so stupid, always turning everything into something he's WON like he's going to throw the sketch in soonyoung's face like "hahaha we're DATING" and soonyoung's going to be like "ok but did you CALL him" it registers in his mind that he indeed has not called yet and calls that second adjkahsdkj i love him.
THANK YOU FOR PICKING UP MINGYU DOGBOYISMS it is who he is and i love it when people notice.. (': thank you for reading!!

Ugh I love that bit so much...Sometimes it feels like Mingyu is too small for his big boy body but then sometimes it also feels like it's too small! He has too much in him to be contained!
There are so many things Mingyu would like to do for Minghao, but even he realizes there is a line between endearing server and creepy guy who stares (he has a good balance).
Thank you for reading klav!!
