sorry this isn’t Exactly the prompt but i’ve just been thinking about jihoon and his little vernon a lot today

Vernon pauses the track and takes off the headset. People who spend this much time in the studio usually only put it over one ear, brain trained enough to notice everything that needs to be heard from just half the information. But Vernon isn’t like that. He’s not the kind of guy who relies on only half of his brain.
“It’s good,” he says. “I liked the bass line. That little,” he hums the tune and bops his head. His beanie is so tightly shut on his head that it doesn’t move at all.
“Mmh,” Jihoon approves. “What do you think of the second verse?”
Vernon purses his lips and stares at the screen. “I’d add in a more powerful kick. That way the rap parts will stand out more.”
“Good idea.” Jihoon writes it down on the little note that’s been getting more and more full ever since Vernon entered his studio. “Do you want to wrap it up for today?” he asks.
Vernon’s knee fidgets under the desk. He rolls his chair back but doesn’t stand up. He clears his throat. “Actually,” Vernon starts and stops. He waits for Jihoon to turn off his computer and turn around in his chair. Their knees knock together. “I wanted to talk to you about something.” He plays with his beanie, brings it closer to his eyebrows and then back up.
“Sure.”
“Remember when we were… not trainees but like really close to debut?” He gulps, and doesn't look Jihoon in the eyes. He knocks their knees together again.
“I kissed you,” Vernon blurts out and promptly turns very red. “Do you remember that?”
Jihoon holds back a laugh. “Yes, I do remember that. And then we talked. Is this about… that conversation?”
Vernon nods and drops his shoulders. “Yeah…” Jihoon nods, silently asking him to continue. “Lately I’ve been calling myself bisexual and that feels right.”
“It must.”
“You’re not… upset?”
Jihoon smiles at him sadly. “Of course I’m not. I know I didn’t have the best word choice last time, but I was never upset at you. I was just scared for you. For us.”
“Oh.”
“But now I’m just proud.” He takes Vernon’s hand between his. They’re warm and feel like home. “Thank you for telling me.”
Vernon nods. “Yeah, for sure.”
Thank you for trusting me. I trust you too. Neither of them need to say it.
