About
The world is full of beautiful words. The tongue has no bones but is strong enough to break a heart. Words start wars and end them, create love and choke it, bring us to laughter and joy and tears. There is no falsehood in words, only in things.
Calling all readers, lovers of poetry and music, screen and stage. If you have a google spreadsheet of Metric/Marina/Mitski/Macklemore lyrics, now's your time to shine. What does Nobel Laureate Louise Glück have in common with the Future of Kpop Lee Chan? I don't know, but we can find out.
Examples
Junhui + The Archer
"Easy they come, easy they go
I jump from the train, I ride off alone
I never grew up, it's getting so old
Help me hold onto you"
Taylor Swift - The Archer
Verhao; "I loved him from the moment he walked in"
Just thinking about all the verhao soft feelings from the last week of November, especially the killer tweet from @literarykpop with the quote:
"I laughed and said, ‘Life is easy.’ What I meant was, ‘Life is easy with you here, and when you leave, it will be hard again." - Miranda July
95 line - R18
"Houston, we have a problem."

The opposing army is great in number. Blood will be shed. People will die.
Fewer than projected, if Wonwoo and Jun are able to successfully complete their mission. They're scouting out the enemy's numbers, their division of forces amid the country's landscape—how many war-mages they have, in particular.
Wonwoo crouches on a fallen log near the small campfire he assembled while Jun hunted small game. They've already cooked and eaten; the fibrous gristle of the rabbit Jun managed to catch is stuck between two of Wonwoo's teeth. He worries at the small piece with the tip of his tongue, trying to loosen it. His skin feels too tight across the flesh underneath. The night is too short for them to take a break, but Jun had insisted: "There's time, there's time. We need to keep up our strength."
Jun twirls the end of a stick in the flame. His voice is hushed, calm like the wind blowing through the shadowy canopy of the trees. "Remember the signal if we encounter someone too dangerous to handle. 'Go and meet your brother by the river; he's waiting for you.'" Jun smiles reassuringly. "Don't be scared to leave me behind."
Jun has taught Wonwoo everything he knows about reconnaissance. Wonwoo wonders how many times Jun's been left behind to fend for himself. How many times he's had to leave someone else behind.
Jun has been at this for far longer than Wonwoo has. Since he was a kid, from Jun's stories. He had enough acting ability and two large, guileless eyes to get out of precarious scrapes every time. Well, almost every time. Wonwoo glances surreptitiously at Jun's hip; from the way he was moving around earlier, Jun isn't suffering from a flare-up of his old pelvic injury.
"It's not that simple," Wonwoo says quietly.
"But it is." Jun's tone is matter-of-fact, so at odds with his usual sense of humor. "You have to. The most important part is the information getting back. Not the both of us." Jun pulls out the branch from the fire, watching the tiniest twigs on the end spark and smoke, aflame. He blows them out, then snorts like he's amused. "I wonder if I'll come back this time, too." The calmness in Jun's voice sets something like fury roiling in Wonwoo's chest.
Wonwoo gazes into the fire. "Why is it so easy for you to contemplate your death?"
"I'd rather look at a thing squarely than let it catch me by surprise." Jun grins. "Don't tell me you'd miss me."
Wonwoo looks away again. "That's not what we're talking about." His jaw clenches around the words.
He feels Jun's eyes on him, assessing, for what seems like far too long a time.
"Well. Time to move on, Wonwoo," Jun says with the same smile, standing to kick dirt onto the fire.
Wonwoo shoulders his light rucksack and nods. There's nothing to misunderstand in the words.
They walk for a long time, Jun's pendant charmed to act as a torch guiding the way. Wonwoo feels his shoulders tense further with every hour that passes. Every step brings them closer to the enemy, to knowledge that they'll have to risk their lives for to bring back to their commander.
Jun suddenly sighs, then sweeps Wonwoo off the path and huddles him against a tree. "You're thinking so loud the enemy will hear us. Your footsteps are messy. We're on a reconnaissance mission, not a march."
Wonwoo frowns, glancing down. He didn't realize. Then he looks back up. The light pendant illuminates Jun's features in such a way that Wonwoo almost doesn't recognize him. But that's a lie.
"If you're going to kiss me, better do it now. I hate surprises." Jun's voice is soft, steady, goading. His eyes are terrified. Desirous. Courting disaster.
But perhaps Wonwoo is simply projecting. It doesn't matter, because Wonwoo is clasping Jun's warm nape in his grip, pulling him closer. Jun's mouth tastes of the fire-roasted rabbit, of dried berries, of something warm and sweet that Wonwoo can't put a name to.
Precious minutes pass as Wonwoo purposefully drowns in Jun's taste, his warmth. Rising for air, he distantly wonders about the weight of this act, if it was only a tactical move on Jun's part to help Wonwoo focus. If Jun shares even an iota of the selfishness Wonwoo harbors deep in his heart.
If asked to leave Jun behind, would Wonwoo be able to? Had he ever been?
He can't bring himself to care about the answer.
