Seventeen Holidays
17hols is a prompt fest that will run for 8 weeks from 26 December 2021 to 26 February 2023. People prompt, people fill prompts, and prompts get remixed. All types of fanworks are welcome (fics, poetry, fanart, media!). It is designed to be low on stress* and high on inspiration. *self-inflicted stress not included
ONE: Prompts will be submitted during each round as comments. There are two rounds, Quotes and AUs. For each round, prompting is open for two weeks with a two week break in between. Prompts look like this. TWO: Prompts get filled and are posted as a reply to the comment. THREE: Fills can be remixed. If the filler is open to getting remixed, others can make derivative work of the fill (like a retelling, a fanart, a pod fic, a poem, a translation, or a barely tangential story that was somehow inspired by the fill). This is an example of a prompt, that got filled and remixed, and then filled again (and remixed again). EXTRAS ✧ The admins will update a masterlist throughout the fest. There will be a "hall of fame" for posts that hit certain criteria (e.g. 1+1, five of a kind, rarest pair, community service award). ✧ There is also a baiting post. If you have an agenda or already have ideas you want to do, post a list under that post! NOTE: Fills and remixes are forever open, even after the closing of a round. The time zone is a gut feeling, though we try to open on GMT+12 and close GMT-12.

Can I prompt and write about other groups?
Cameos and crossovers are fine!!
Can a prompt be filled multiple times?
Yes. And there can be multiple remixes. And remixes of remixes.
Can my fills be used for svt bingo?
Yes that's fine with us and svtbingo has also OK'd fic from other events. We are unaffiliated so please manage your own participation.
How do I fill out the prompt/fill form?
PROMPTING
Ship/Member: These are the members and ships you want to see in the fill. [Any] is the default entry, but you can be as specific or as broad as you like. Wonhui, Jeongcheol, Hoshi x J-Hope, Any Member + Justin Bieber, cameos, references, Joshua Hong playing guitar in the background... Major Tags: Please flag if your prompt contains any of the AO3 four (Graphic Violence, MCD, Rape/Noncon, Underage). Flagging here does NOT imply that the fill must have this content. It is a content warning for the prompt only. Additional Tags: Anything you feel requires tagging, can include snazzy tumblr-style tags or those worthy of going on the svt ao3 tag twitter. Do Not Wants: Anything you absolutely do not want to see in a fill. FILLINGMajor Tags: Please flag if your fill is explicit or if it contains any of the AO3 Four. Anything else is up to your discretion. Permission to Remix?: This lets people know if they can remix your fill in a reply. The options are: Yes/No/Please ask. Feel free to be specific e.g. if you have blanket permissions for certain forms (like podfic) but would like to be asked for all others. The other sections are descriptive of your fill. What has changed from 2022?
There are 2 rounds instead of 3, and there's now a two week break instead of one. We want the experience to be more sustainable and less stressful. We are always happy to take feedback and suggestions.
What was this inspired by?
It's based off the anime kink meme format, and the bonus rounds of various fandom olympics (example). Comment ficathons were popular on livejournal and dreamwidth where your dear OP had a fun time and wanted to recreate the happiness for Seventeen fandom. OP had friends who were also nostalgic and after a few chats and encouragement, 17hols was born.

I'm new to this format, sorry if this question was answered somewhere else, but I was wondering how podfic remixes work? Can I just record any of the fills, or am I supposed to ask first? Can I post them to ao3 too? Etc.

In every fill/remix, at the top, there's a section called "permission to remix" which covers permission for all derivative work, including podfic. If it's "Yes" then you're good to go, sometimes it will be "please ask" or "no" or something else! So have a look in the fill you want to podfic (I'm super excited, this will be our first podfic).
Crossposting to ao3 is fine!
