"Hansol-ie," Seungkwan said sternly, raising a judgmental eyebrow when Hansol looked up from his preoccupation – destroying his fingernails between his teeth.

Hansol looked sheepish. "Sorry, hyung," he replied. And he meant it. Seungkwan didn't intend for it to come across as mean, and Hansol hadn't taken it that way. Seungkwan liked that about him; he knew he could be a bit of a nitpick sometimes, to the point of annoyance. An ex had described him as controlling once for not letting him go out with a dirty pair of slacks. Hansol just took Seungkwan's suggestions in stride.

Besides, biting one's nails at one the fanciest restaurants this side of the Han River was pointedly, not very classy. Seungkwan didn't expect classy from Hansol, as an early-twenty-something university student, but he could do his best to nudge him in the right direction, at least in these kinds of situations.

"Just – nervous," Hansol continued, taking a sip from his glass of too-expensive wine (from a place in Europe neither of them could pronounce) and hiding his grimace badly. Seungkwan couldn't help but be charmed by that. He was trying, and that's all Seungkwan could ask for. "And hungry."

Seungkwan's first thought was to call over one of the waiters and gently suggest that their food may take priority, but he knew Hansol would object. Instead, he set an open hand on the table, warm against the soft linen tablecloth, palm up. The younger offered his hand, the one he had been chewing on a minute earlier.

Hansol had big hands, covering Seungkwan's with his when he gave it to him.

"You're so handsome, tonight," Seungkwan said, rubbing his thumb over the back of the younger's hand. He had already told him that about five other times that evening, and that was a conservative estimate. "You fit right in, don't worry."

Tonight had been a special occasion – their six months. Seungkwan had charged Minghao with dressing up his beau. He was happy to do it himself most other times, fretting over the details maybe a bit too much to make him look perfect. But, again, tonight was special. He wanted to be surprised. And surprised he was.

Minghao took his charge seriously. And, given that Seungkwan had said there was no budget, in a good way, he went all out. Seungkwan was pretty sure Minghao had even brought him to the hairdresser to get a touch up. He really did appreciate Minghao's eye for the details – and the fact he likely dealt with them in a less overbearing way than Seungkwan did. He hoped Hansol enjoyed the experience, too.

Seungkwan only now noticed the bracelet Hansol was wearing – one of his. And not one of the several he had gifted Hansol already, but that didn't matter much. He looked up at Hansol, running a finger across it, quirking up his eyebrow again.

"I – may have stolen that," Hansol explained. "Myungho-hyung asked if there were any personal touches I wanted to add…"

"Aish, sneaky Hansol-ie," Seungkwan said, quiet and just a touch too fond for still being in public, by his quickly loosening standards. Hansol brought something out in him. "Do you want to keep it?" He added, practically out of reflex. Hansol shook his head.

"I prefer it on you, hyung." There was a hint of cheek in his voice. Seungkwan rolled his eyes.

Seungkwan just wanted to offer Hansol everything, he really couldn't help himself. His tuition, his rent, himself. Of course, Hansol politely declined most of those offers.

(I don't want to depend on you, hyung. I just want to be your boyfriend, Hansol had explained one time, after a tipsy Seungkwan had written Hansol a cheque for an obscene amount when Hansol had whined about his roommate cheaping out on takeout.

As much as that could have hurt Seungkwan, and maybe it did sting for a moment, he knew what Hansol meant. And it was probably better that way, in the long term. Hansol really did like him and, well – he really liked Hansol too. The word boyfriend rang in his mind for a few days after that.)

The offers Hansol didn't decline were mostly for things Seungkwan would previously have described as juvenile, probably. He gained a new understanding and – appreciation for it when Hansol would enthusiastically demonstrate how some new toy contraption related to some superhero movie franchise worked. Seungkwan didn't really get it but it made him happy to see Hansol excited and so full of glee at these things.

Seungkwan had been inspecting Hansol's hands, feeling his fingernails (Let me buy you a nice hand cream, Hansol-ah. And maybe you should come with me next time I get my nails done), when the food was finally delivered to their table. Seungkwan realized how engrossed he had been in examining Hansol's hands, finally letting his hand go and looking up to see the younger looking at him fondly. Seungkwan couldn't help but look away, shy, before quickly reverting all his attention back to Hansol.

Phones at the table were generally frowned upon at such a high-class establishment but – he couldn't help himself from pulling his out and snapping a picture of Hansol, eagerly holding his fork and knife in front of a substantial steak. He was cute, even all dolled up in a three-piece suit.

Seungkwan did eventually manage to eat his meal despite the distraction, and Hansol finished his glass of wine despite his obvious distaste for it.

"Was it good?" Seungkwan asked. It better have been. Hansol nodded, rubbing his stomach cutely.

"Thank you, hyung," Hansol said, though he didn't need to. "This was really nice – everything. I'm happy about us."

Hansol was particularly cute when he was candid, and a bit tipsy.

"Me too, Hansol" Seungkwan grabbed his hand across the table again, hardly able to get enough of his touch. "Now, do you want dessert here, or at the hotel?"
