Re: [REMIX] a kingdom for this

[cracks knuckles] here I come...

Hwa!!! when I couldn't decide between wonhan/jeongcheol for the fill and simply end up including them both in a way, I never expected it would lead to this. You've taken the details I've merely paid short visits to and spun a vivid story around them and I'm *____*

I had a vague idea of where Jeonghan stood in the grand scheme of things, but until you wrote him, all the pieces hadn't come together yet. Then they did! Everything became so clear--Jeonghan couldn't be anyone else other than this boy who wanted a simple life, had he been born without the weight of a crown upon his head.

I loved the way you build him up. But there was also Jeonghan, a boy who dreamt of slow summer afternoons, lying down by the river, poetry being whispered into his hair. Knowing how the story ended just lodged the knife deeper in between my ribs, because yeah, they could have had that... In a different lifetime, Jeonghan would spend summers by the river, Wonwoo whispering poetry into his hair. (insert painful pterodactyl screech).

The parallels with the original are as wonderful as they are painful, but this one especially got me good: He could do this, with Wonwoo's hand in his, Jeonghan can rule. He could stop doing this alone.

There was a question I received upon posting about what Wonwoo's colour would be in Jeonghan's eyes. Was so giddy that you answered that, as I also wanted to know (lol)

The intricacies of the political conflict in this and also the insinuation that, Wonwoo had once in a while, given suggestions to Seungcheol when he read through letters meant for Jeonghan... perfect. I think it was the biggest ego boost to have seen this email dropped into my inbox. I squealed and screamed and people on my private account could probably attest to how unhinged I was. Thank you for remixing this!! I'll be thinking about them with every surviving brain cell of mine.

hwaranghae <3 [Grammarly did not like this word and underlined it red, but I have fought valiantly for it by adding it to my dictionary]

(I don't believe there's anything you need to make up for-in fact I still owe you for the first chapter ;; whatever the future has in store for you can be king again, I'm always just over to the side waving my pom-poms.)
