Highly recommend Given!! the art is gorgeous and the story is very character driven. There was a scene that left a deep impression on me: in high school, Akikito is gifted violin player but then he overhears Ugetsu practising and has this shock moment where he realises what a 'true' genius is and how it's something out of reach, and he is filled with so much resentment that he stops playing violin (but the love between them is really powerful, just like how Junhui would be so crazy if he could love joshua - I'm still thinking about that!). Your story reminded me of that interplay between music and love, and how sometimes music (unhealthily) could influence the direction of love.
